What's inside this bar
Six elements with complementary roles, each chosen to support muscle recovery, replenish energy and deliver quality nutrition, all in a 35g bar.
What BCAA and glutamine are and why they work
BCAA, or branched-chain amino acids, are a group of three essential amino acids: L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine, in a 2:1:1 ratio. They are called “essential” because the body does not produce them on its own and they must be obtained through food or supplementation. They are the most abundant amino acids in muscle tissue and the first to be used as fuel during intense exercise.
L-Leucine is the most important amino acid for muscle protein synthesis: it activates the mTOR pathway, the primary signalling mechanism that stimulates the repair and growth of muscle fibres after training. L-Isoleucine and L-Valine complement this effect with energy production during effort and with the reduction of muscle fatigue.
L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in blood plasma and muscle tissue. Scientific studies show that periods of intense training significantly reduce blood glutamine levels, which compromises recovery and can weaken the immune system. L-Glutamine supplementation supports post-workout recovery, contributes to the reduction of muscle soreness and helps restore muscle glycogen stores for the next session.
The 2:1:1 ratio (leucine, isoleucine, valine) is the most studied and used for muscle recovery and protein synthesis after effort.
A dose of BCAA in a natural and portable format, no powders, no shakers, no complexity.
Glutamine drops after intense training. Supplementation supports recovery, reduces muscle soreness and supports the immune system.
Dates provide fast-absorbing glucose to replenish the muscle glycogen used during effort.

Questions about muscle recovery and CocoaNut Recovery Bar. Frequently asked questions
What are BCAA and what do they do in CocoaNut Recovery Bar?
BCAA are branched-chain amino acids: L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine, in a 2:1:1 ratio. They are essential for muscle protein synthesis, the repair of muscle fibres after training and the reduction of muscle fatigue. L-Leucine activates the mTOR pathway, the primary muscle growth and repair mechanism. CocoaNut contains 500mg of BCAA 2:1:1 per bar.
What does L-Glutamine do in CocoaNut Recovery Bar?
L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in muscle tissue. Intense training reduces its levels in the blood, which compromises recovery and can weaken the immune system. L-Glutamine supplementation supports post-workout recovery, contributes to the reduction of delayed muscle soreness and helps replenish muscle glycogen. CocoaNut contains 500mg of L-Glutamine per bar.
When should I eat CocoaNut Recovery Bar?
Preferably within the first 30 to 60 minutes after training, the window when muscles are most receptive to amino acid absorption. It can also be consumed as a pre-workout snack for moderate-intensity sessions, to provide energy and muscle support during effort.
Does CocoaNut Recovery Bar replace protein shakes or BCAA powder?
It is a practical alternative for post-workout, especially when you don’t have access to shakers or prefer something solid and tasty. The dose of 500mg of BCAA and 500mg of glutamine is lower than typical powder supplement doses, but is meaningful in the context of a natural snack and can complement your daily nutrition in a practical way.
Is CocoaNut Recovery Bar suitable for vegetarians and vegans?
It contains honey, so it is not certified as 100% vegan. All other ingredients are plant-based or mineral. It contains no animal protein beyond honey.
